Understanding your monthly summary

The Summary is the first thing you see when you sign in: how your month is going, on a single screen. Here we explain what each part means and where every figure comes from.

Updated 6 October 2026

Which month you are looking at

The name of the month is at the very top. When you sign in, Estalvia opens the latest month with transactions; to see another one, change it with the month selector.

  • If the month isn't complete yet, it says so: Transactions up to… That is the date of the last transaction in your statement.
  • If there are uncategorised transactions, you will see a notice with a button to Review. Until you review them, the figures may change slightly.

Your month at a glance: the three rings

The three summary rings: savings, safety net and spending for the month.

The three rings tell you whether you are on track without reading a single figure. A full ring is a good sign for savings and the safety net; for spending, it means you have already spent as much as in a normal month.

Savings
What is left this month after all your spending. It fills up when you save 20 % of what comes in, the usual benchmark. If you have set a goal in Goals, it is compared with what you would need to put aside each month to reach it.
Safety net
Your available money counted in months of spending: how long you could keep paying for the usual things if you stopped earning one day. Having 3 to 6 months is recommended; the ring fills up at 6.
Spending
What you have spent so far this month compared with what you usually spend in a whole month (your average over the previous months, up to six). If you go over your usual amount, it turns red.

Your available money

The “Your available money” card, with the total balance and how it has changed over recent months.

It is the sum of the last balance of each of your accounts at the end of the month, with a chart of how it has changed and how many months of spending it covers.

The four figures of the month

Below the rings there are four figures. Each one is compared with the previous month (the arrow and the percentage).

Spending this month
Everything that went out: fixed expenses, day-to-day spending and anything not yet categorised. It also shows your average.
Income
Everything that came in, with nothing taken off: your salary, payments you receive and anything not yet categorised.
Savings this month
Income minus spending: what is left. Money you move to a savings account is still savings, so it isn't subtracted (it shows as “set aside”).
Fixed expenses
What you pay almost for sure every month: rent or mortgage, bills, insurance, subscriptions… and what share of your income they take.

Spending pace and forecast

Chart of cumulative spending this month compared with the previous month, with the forecast to the end of the month.

The line shows how much you have spent day by day, next to last month's. If it is above, you are spending faster this month.

While the month is in progress, You're heading for… appears: a forecast of how you will end the month. It adds what you have already spent, the recurring charges still to come (bills, subscriptions) and your day-to-day spending at your usual pace. Next to it, it tells you whether that is more or less than your average.

Where did the money go?

List of this month's spending categories with their bar, amount and average.

Your spending categories, from highest to lowest, with your average under each amount. The colour of the bar shows whether it is a fixed or a variable (day-to-day) expense, as the legend indicates. Tap a category to see its transactions.

  • If you give a category a budget (in Settings → Categories), a line shows the limit and you get a warning if you go over it.
  • For day-to-day categories with a budget, a fainter line marks where you should be today: what you would have spent if you spread the budget evenly over the month.
